An open public meeting has been arranged for Thursday 7th June to seek support for setting up a Leiston Area Community Radio. The meeting will start at 7pm and be held at the Leiston Enterprise Centre off Sizewell Road.
It is important that those who are willing to support the setting up of such a radio service come along to the meeting. If there is not sufficient support then the move to establish a community may not get started. As the BBC Radio Suffolk is becoming regionalised there is both a need and scope for establishing a Local Community Radio. It would be a link that would allow local clubs and organisations to communicate with the resident population. It would also provide a facility for discussion on matters that affect the Town and surrounding area.
Community Radios are already operating at Southwold, Ipswich and other places. There is a strong prima facie case for thinking one is needed and would be successful in the Leiston area. So come along and help make it happen. For further information contact Nick Boulter at nick@pebble-media.co.uk or tel 07720349222
