Cut Your Running Costs and Make a Difference…….

You may not be aware that small and medium sized businesses in the district have access to a free specialist advice service to help them reduce their carbon footprint, cut running costs and enhance reputation.

Suffolk Coastal, working in partnership with Groundwork East of England, has a part time Business Energy Advisor who focuses specifically on helping businesses in our district. Aimee Clark will visit your premises and, with you, assess your energy and resource use and calculate your carbon footprint.  You will then be provided with practical measures to reduce your costs, carbon emissions and environmental impact, and to help improve staff awareness and understanding of your green agenda.

To date, the project has identified potential annual savings of almost £700,000 and 3,500tCO2(e); 135 business have been seen in this time which represents average savings of almost £5,000 and 26tCO2(e) per SME. These savings are made up of a whole range of measures including heating modernisations, improvements to building fabric and insulation, lighting upgrades, employee behavioural change and appliance and heating controls.

Each SME that signs up to the service receives a comprehensive on-site review followed by an Energy Report and Action Plan. The report details the organisation's annual energy spend and carbon footprint and prioritises actions that are most likely to generate the most significant cost and carbon savings.

If you have any questions, would like more information about the service, or would like to book a visit, please contact Aimee Clark on 01394 444257 or aimee.clark@groundwork.org.uk .
